YMCA of Greater Toledo is Hiring a Dance Instructor Near Sylvania, OH

Position: Dance Instructor

Branch: Sylvania YMCA/JCC

Position Type: Part-Time

Pay: $10.45 per hour

General Function:

To ensure the safety of all participants enrolled in a dance class receive quality instruction in a fun and safe environment.

Know-How:

Instructor must have a strong knowledge of different dance styles, such as ballet, tap, jazz, and hip hop. Instructor should be able to instruct students, beginner though advanced. Current certification in CPR, First Aid, AED is required.

Job Segments:

  1. Arrive 15 minutes prior to the start of your lesson.
  2. Start and end class on time.
  3. Teach basic steps, movements and routine combinations.
  4. Maintain a professional image at all times.
  5. Enforce and follow all safety rules.
  6. Encourage teamwork as well as individual work.
  7. Set the proper example at all times.
  8. Have fun!
  9. Demonstrate Responsibility, Respect, Caring & Honesty towards members, guests, co-workers, and supervisor at all times. Incorporate Character Development into all classes.
  • Follow a lesson plan for each class.
  • Take attendance every class.
  • Complete a Certificate for each participant, to be handed out the last day of each session.
